As part of the European Artistic Gymnastics Championships, which takes place in Italy, British gymnast Alice Kinsella adequately represented her country and won bronze in the all-around.
Kinsella, 23, has already proven herself on the wider sports scene, finishing second at the same championship last year. This year, her overall result in four subjects was 53.599 points.
Gold at the European Women’s All-Around Championships went to Italian Manila Esposito, who scored 55.432 points. Her compatriot Alice D’Amato took second place with a score of 54.831 points.
Kinsella shared her emotions after the competition: “I feel very happy. Even though it was not my best competition, I am happy to take third place and receive this medal.”
In addition to her individual success, Kinsella also helped her team advance to the team finals, which will take place on Sunday in the Italian city of Rimini. Becky Downie, Ruby Evans, Abi Martin and Georgia-Mae Fenton will also compete for Great Britain in the team competition. This powerful team will try to defend their title as European champions.
It is important to note that the GB men’s team also performed well at the European Championships. They finished last week with gold, beating the Ukrainian team. In addition, Briton Jake Jarman won gold in the vault discipline.
